If youíre a songwriter who may or may not perform, a music publishing deal may be the route for you.  Itís the perfect way to get yourself known in the industry and create a track record.  Not to mention collect royalties.  If you are a  songwriter and a performing artist but have found it difficult to get signed as an artist, publishing your songs through music publishing houses is a perfect way to get the attention you're looking for.  Once you have a track record of hit songwriting, especially if the song becomes a hit through a well known artist  you will be  taken far more seriously as a performer. Another extremely popular method of exploiting your material is to gain exposure from Film & TV

AMEG's subsidiary music publishing division and its partners work collectively with other publishing houses to place songs for our artistts and other performers. These publishers who are either BMI or ASCAP affiliated, and record companies of every genre of music look to AMEG'S Publishing house catalog, and our stable of artists and songwriters for fresh new songs and material for major artists,  and up and coming artists, TV, movie sound tracks, and commercial ads. Collectively, we have the ears to know if they are viable possibilities, and the power to place your songs if they have that special element of commercial appeal. You may have just written the song that happens to be perfect for a music supervisor or music director's next  major film.  Many artist's have broken big by exploiting their songs through publishers, film and TV.

Licensing your songs
to Film & TV can be
one of the smartest
career moves you can

I truly hope that we don't have to tell you that before you even consider submitting your songs to anyone, or publishing them online anywhere for sale or streaming that you make sure all of your songs are properly copyrighted with the Library of Congress.  Do not --- we repeat --do not make the mistake of self publishing, or submitting your songs to publishers, labels, venues, anywhere until you have obtained copyrights.  Copyrighting your songs is quick, easy, and very inexpensive.  This online copyright registration service is fantastic for getting all the protection you need before you even consider exploiting your songs.  For the few dollars it takes to do this, the peace of mind you get back is well worth it.  There are horrow stories about artist's that neglected to copyright their songs ...  be dilligent ---copyright your music.  Click and copyright is probably the easiest, and most inexpensive way to do this, and you do it all online.  If you haven't done so yet, you owe it to yourself and co-writers to Get your Copyright here!.  Click on the logo below to find out how easy it is to copyright your songs.

quick and easy copyright services

Another important thing you need to do if you are a songwriter who is self published or has your own publishing company, and you are prepared to release your works commercially is joining a performing rights association.  This is how you will get paid in the event that your release receives radio play is is exploited in other ways.
ASCAP or BMI are the two likely choices.  They both do the same thing so it really doesn't matter which one you choose.  So before you commercially release ... Join one.

Getting published can lead to a record deal, or an exciting career in the music and songwriting industry.  Our associations with major record labels allows to promote our catalog worldwide to well known established artists and performers of every genre and stature. Our publishing house is a BMI affiliated publisher.  AMEG is constantly on the look out for great songs with hit potential.  If you are a songwriter with great songs and you may want to consider getting them placed with an established music publishing house or having them licensed to film or TV, AMEG will review your works for consideration.  And whatever you do PLEASE Register your Copyright before you do anything!
